Odoo ERP system
Pana is one of Denmark's largest sewing rooms, located centrally in Jutland in Ry near Silkeborg. Pana has been producing fabrics for business customers across the country since 1984 and advising them on the best solutions. Pana is currently owned by Pia Lund Olesen, who took over the business in 2017.

Challenges
Pana faced challenges with non-integrated systems, resulting in a cumbersome and time-consuming manual process for orders and requests from customers. The lack of integration between their website and production created unnecessary and inefficient workflows that not only took time but also increased the risk of errors, as data had to be entered in multiple places. An upgrade to an integrated system would therefore not only optimise the processes but also significantly improve accuracy and customer satisfaction.
Solution
After assessing the challenges Pana faced, it became clear that they needed a tailored in-house solution, that could consolidate all their needs into one efficient system. Therefore, Pana chose to switch to Odoo.
Odoo was designed to optimise the handling of customer orders directly from their website, which is currently built on Wordpress, but links to a configurator that opens in Odoo. Here, all calculations take place and thus also a price that takes into account all the options the customer can choose. Their previous methods of managing production and inventory via excel sheets were no longer sufficient. This is now solved with various Apps from Odoo: Accounting, Sales, Inventory, Webshop, Time Tracking, HR, etc. All Apps that can be "clicked on" depending on the needs one has.
With Odoo, Pana now has an integrated in-house solution that not only saves time but also resources, as all systems work together. This means they no longer have to invest in many different programmes and providers.
As the only sewing room in Denmark, Pana now offers a full online ordering solution that is seamlessly integrated with their accounting, inventory, and production, giving them a significant competitive advantage.
Evaluation from Pana
The best thing about ODOO is the overview, and that it is easily accessible for everyone in the company and not least for our customers.
We have been quite challenged in the implementation process – not least because our product is quite complex. It has also meant that we have not built it up completely correctly and thus do not have the coherence between the different apps that we could wish for.
I think Odoo has many advantages, but I do miss a reference tool. I think there is much we still do not know and benefit from – Simply because we do not know how to use it, or have learned it. Our employees are not particularly IT savvy and that is probably the biggest reason why we do not fully get out of the system what we should. However, we are learning a little at a time, so hopefully it will get better with the years.
